Synopsis
Peyton married Nolan for three years, but in the end, she was defeated by his one-and-only he had hidden in his heart for ten years. On the day Peyton received her stomach cancer diagnosis, Nolan accompanied his beloved for her son's check-up. She didn't make a fuss but left with the divorce agreement quietly. However, she never expected herself to be retaliated mercilessly by him. It turned out that Nolan married Peyton only to avenge his sister. When Peyton was seriously ill, he pinched her chin and said coldly, "The Schmitt family owed me." Tragically, Peyton's world crumbled as her family was destroyed, and her father was left in a vegetative state following a car accident. Consumed by despair, she made the heartbreaking decision to leap from a tall building. In her final moments, Peyton whispered to herself, "The Schmitt family owed you your sister's life. I'll repay you with mine." Nolan, who had always been dignified, knelt on the ground with bloodshot eyes and begged her back frantically over and over again...

I usually skip long novels, but this one kept my attention all the way through. The character growth is convincing, and the emotional conflicts feel realistic instead of forced. Overall, this is a memorable read with strong emotions and a lot of replay value.
The writing feels smooth and easy to follow, even when the plot gets intense. The relationship dynamics are handled carefully, so every decision feels meaningful. I am genuinely looking forward to the next chapters and seeing where this story goes.

At first I only planned to read a few chapters, then I kept going for hours. The world-building is detailed enough to be immersive without feeling too heavy. I am genuinely looking forward to the next chapters and seeing where this story goes.
I started this book with low expectations, but it surprised me in the best way. The relationship dynamics are handled carefully, so every decision feels meaningful. If the author keeps this quality, this could easily become one of my favorite books this year.
