Synopsis

Isabelle was tricked by her fiancé and step-sister, leading to her abduction and imprisonment in the mountains. Luckily, she managed to escape, yet only got drowned in another nightmare—during her desperate pursuit of freedom, she lost her virginity to an unknown man. Frustrated and helpless, resilient Isabelle eventually found her way back home. However, just when Isabelle was about to pull herself together and take revenge on whoever had hurt her, she found herself pregnant. The father of her baby found her and proposed to her. “Marry me. I’ll handle your enemies and you’ll handle my money. I will be all yours.” To seek shelter for her revenge, Isabelle married the mysterious man who was always wearing a silver mask. Deep inside, she burned with curiosity about her husband's identity. When the truth finally emerged, it nearly drove her to madness – he was none other than her lifelong rival! “Sorry, honey, my bad. But please, calm down for the sake of our baby!” Warren pleaded with a mischievous grin on his face. Isabelle couldn’t help but sigh. Didn’t see this coming!

The writing feels smooth and easy to follow, even when the plot gets intense. Several scenes were genuinely touching, and a few plot turns caught me completely off guard. I am genuinely looking forward to the next chapters and seeing where this story goes.

I started this book with low expectations, but it surprised me in the best way. What I like most is the pacing: quiet moments, tension, and twists are balanced very well. Overall, this is a memorable read with strong emotions and a lot of replay value.

I usually skip long novels, but this one kept my attention all the way through. The character growth is convincing, and the emotional conflicts feel realistic instead of forced. If the author keeps this quality, this could easily become one of my favorite books this year.
